  • OK, so I score evenly as River AND as Inara?  Somehow, that just doesn’t compute!

    You scored as River Tam.

    The
Fugitive. You are clever and dangerous, which is a nasty combination.
The fact you are crazy too just adds to your charm. They did bad things
to you, but you know their secrets. They will regret how they made you.

  • Whoo-hoo!  Just scored tickets to the Stars game tonight, and not
just any tickets!  I was offered two tickets to sit in the Ernst
& Young suite at AA Stadium by our Director of Tax (who is a hockey
fan and knows I enjoy it too) – dinner and drinks included.  It
was fun to call D and ask if she would like to go if I could secure the
tickets, and it was even more fun to send her an email asking
when/where we should meet for the game after I got them!
Fan === Fanatic ==== D.  Should be swanky and lotso fun!

  • Busy days at work this week, sigh.  I’m so overloaded I’ve taken
to scheduling blocks of time to work on discrete projects.  At
this point, I’m booked through the end of next week, and I have to go
through to schedule some things farther out because I left no free time
for the little stuff that comes up every day.  We should find out
today or tomorrow whether my friend, L (to whom we offered a job) will
accept the position.  We desperately need another attorney – three
of us just can’t handle all the work for our company and its 30
subsidiary companies, especially when one of us concentrates only on
Europe.  Oh well, it’s still MUCH MUCH MUCH better than working at
a law firm.  I still go home at 6PM – Hooray!

  • Don’t know why, but this just seems to be a test-taking night!

    Ingmar Bergman
Your film will be 69% romantic, 35% comedy, 41% complex plot, and a $ 41 million budget.
Your life will be portrayed on film as an intense psychological drama,
likely with some actresses screaming at the camera (Persona), or maybe
a pleasant chess game between the Grim Reaper and a Crusader (The
Seventh Seal). This Swedish director’s films are intensely scrutinzed
and studied in colleges all over the world to this day. This means that
most Americans still don’t understand his films! Still alive, he
released in the U.S. in 2005 his first film in 23 years (Saraband), and
he can still take on one more project to make your film biography. If
curious, start with his films Wild Strawberries and Smiles of a Summer
    Night.

  • Deeds of Heroes was a lot of fun this past weekend, and I really
enjoyed driving there and back with D.  Makes the trip so much
shorter to have someone to talk to, especially someone you can confide
in (and vice versa).  Actually got a bit tipsy Friday night, which
I haven’t done in quite a while.  Saturday was a beautiful day,
the feast was great, and much fun was had by all Saturday night.
D and I dropped by the outlets in San Marcos on the way back and
generally made a day of it.  I’ll have to miss Bryn Gwlad next
weekend because I absolutely have to wrap everything up for the Rose
Event (gate flyer, final logistics, etc).  I leave for San
Francisco in two weeks, and the Rose event is the following weekend, so
next weekend is the last one I have in town to be sure everything is
    ready.

Work was busy from the minute I walked in the door, and then I had to
stay late for a conference call with some of our Asia Pacific folks
calling from China and Australia.  I’ll be glad when daylight
savings time stops and the time difference is two hours less.
Then we can schedule these damn calls at 4:00pm instead of
    6:00pm.  Oh well.

I’ve been reading good news on many friends’ Xanga sites!  It’s
really nice when your friends are doing well and being happy.
When you are too, life is good.

    Oooooh, I like this one:

    Myrna Loy
You scored 26% grit, 19% wit, 19% flair, and 52% class!
You are class itself, the calm, confident “perfect woman.” Men turn and
look at you admiringly as you walk down the street, and even your
rivals have a grudging respect for you. You always know the right thing
to say, do and, of course, wear. You can take charge of a situation
when things get out of hand, and you’re a great help to your partner
even if they don’t immediately see or know it. You are one classy dame.
Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant, you little
    simmerpot, you.

But, changing four answers resulted in:

    Carole Lombard
You scored 21% grit, 23% wit, 38% flair, and 30% class!
You’re a little bit of a fruitcake, but you always act out in style.
You have a good sense of humor, are game for almost anything, but you
like to have nice things about you and are attracted to the high life.
You’re stylish and modern, but you’ve got a few rough edges that keep
you from attaining true sophistication. Your leading men include
William Powell, Fredric March, and Clark Gable. Watch out for small
    planes.

  • Glamorous Soul
    64% Tastefulness, 53% Originality, 66% Deliberateness, 50% Sexiness
    [Tasteful Original Deliberate Sexy]

You choose your outfits carefully according to many criteria. You don’t
like looking cheap, dull or random and you go to great lengths to avoid
this. You are successful, too. People admire your taste and sex appeal.
Many try to imitate you but not many can recreate your unique style.
Sometimes, however, they find you too intimidating to approach. If you
don’t wear retro style yet, perhaps you should consider it. It would
become greatly your sexy, mysterious self.

The opposite style from yours is Fashion Enemy [Flamboyant Conventional Random Prissy].

  • Well the Rose event is only three weeks away, and I am now letting
people know that I have to be in San Francisco on business for the week
before the event, and that I won’t even get to site before Saturday
afternoon.  Luckily, all seems to be well in hand and no one is
going nuts over the fact that the Steward won’t be there at
first.  My co-Steward has run two other Kingdom level events this
year already, so he know exactly what needs to be done the day of, and
I’ve enlisted two of my fellow Roses to be cat-herders and keep the
other Roses off his neck.  All the event activities are being run
by Roses who have been doing this stuff for years, and they all have
local back-ups.  I don’t expect any problems, but I do feel pretty
weird about not being there to help with set up and all that.  Ah
well, life trumps fantasy, and I have no choice but to be gone that
week.  I’ll be last off-site after clean-up in recompense!

I am hitting crunch time on the prep stuff though.  The gate
brochure is almost finished, but I’m having trouble with the web
site.  Seems the software I’ve been using to design the page is
too advanced for the server on which it needs to reside.  I’m
getting help, but it’s frustrating not to be able to just get it
done.  Naturally, when I have so much to take care of that’s not
work related, work has heated up as well.  My days are scheduled
down to the last half hour for the next week.  Sigh.  Good
thing I really like my job.

Going to Bjornsborg this weekend with D to attend their event and sit
under Lady Azure’s pavilion.  Should be lots of fun, and I’m
looking forward to it.  After that, I’m staying home until I have
to leave for SF.  One or two last rounds of phone calls making
sure everything is ready for the Rose event, finishing up the gate
brochure, web site and all the other paperwork.  Sending it all
down with O or maybe A, so it will be there early Friday.  Will be
    a busy few weeks!

  • D
is right – these damn things are addictive.  While I seldom think
to actually write anything here, I get inspired to take these silly
tests and post the results.  Go figure.

    You’re an Expert Kisser

You’re a kissing pro, but it’s all about quality and not quantity
You’ve perfected your kissing technique and can knock anyone’s socks off
And you’re adaptable, giving each partner what they crave
When it comes down to it, your kisses are truly unforgettable

Went to see Wicked last weekend, and it was absolutely faboo!  I
rank it as the best the DSM put on this year, although The Producers
was a close second.  Then, we wandered around the new Ikea and the
following day, we went to the grand opening of a new outdoor
mall.  It was a perfect day weatherwise, and we sat outside eating
chocolate chip cookies for a while.  I let myself get talked into
buying a new outfit for the Build-a-Bear I received as a gift when I
was hospitalized two years ago after the wreck, the thought being that
it really needed something other than the hospital gown, sling and
crutch it had..  I decided she was a girl and blew $20 on clothes
for a stuffed animal.  Life is just weird sometimes.  All in
    all, a relaxing weekend.
