Well, after a perfectly lovely few days in Angel Fire, in the mountains of northern New Mexico, I’m sitting here in an AmeriSuites at the Albuquerque airport.  A blizzard swept in today, making me about an hour late getting out of Angel Fire because my transport couldn’t get over Raton pass in less than two hours (it’s normally about a 40-minute drive).  Then, of course, we had to crawl back over the pass.  The normally 2 and a half hour trip then took us approximately 6 hours in heavy snow, and we got to the airport 5 minutes after my flight departed – the last flight of the day.  So now I’m sitting on hold with Travelocity.com, trying to see when I can get out of here tomorrow.  Hopefully, the blizzard hitting Denver and NM north of here won’t prevent my getting out.  Despite all that, I’m in a pretty good mood, just having had a lovely steak dinner at a restaurant the hotel recommended and shuttled me out to.

This has probably screwed my plans to get three of the rooms in my house painted this weekend however.  I had hoped to get all the rooms taped off tomorrow, and then D&O were coming in tomorrow night to help me with painting on Saturday and Sunday.  Now, I’ll be lucky to get to Dallas in time to even buy the necessary supplies at Home Depot. Oh well, not a tragedy.  Just a postponement (maybe, depending on when I get home).  Travelocity has sucky “hold music” though.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever it is you may celebrate)!
