OK, so I didn’t so much take a shower and relax. JP and a friend came through Dallas on their way home from 12th Night and called to see if I’d like to go to dinner with them. Since I hadn’t eaten since noon or so, and since I really enjoy their company, I did that instead. Now, it’s 20 minutes till 11:00, and I’m gonna go take that shower now. (They said all the right things about my colorful rooms. I love my friends.)

Color Finished!
Done, done, done! Well, all except for the trim. And the rooms that currently have wallpaper. But I’m *so* not worrying about those right now. The hallway is finished and the yellow room with stripes turned out fabulous. Hopefully, I’ll post some pictures in the next few days. At any rate, I’m going to take a shower and relax for the rest of the evening. My new washing machine is being delivered tomorrow, and I’ll have a ton of laundry to take care of. Hi-ho. Now for a shower and a glass of wine. Oh yeah, and something to eat would probably be good too.

Color Update
Well, the hallway now has one coat of paint, and the yellow room is three-quarters taped to fix the stripes. It’s amazing how quickly time passes in the evening – you really don’t get all that much done before suddenly it’s 10:00 and time to start cleaning up. At least there’s nothing going on this weekend that I have to attend – I’m not going to Steppes 12th Night for once. I can finish painting and washing machine shopping this weekend.

Color Accomplished!
Well, I’ve now got a red room, a green room and a yellow room. The hall is going to be finished tonight (a very light latte color), and then I have to go back the the yellow room for some more work. For your information, remember when using a chalk line not to tape over the chalk line and hope to wipe it off later. It doesn’t work. So, I’ll be widening my gold stripes by about a quarter inch on each side so I can paint over the blue chalk that won’t wash off because it was sealed on by the pale yellow base paint. Sigh. Despite the minor hiccup with the stripes, however, I’m really, really happy with the paint job we did on the bedrooms. Many, many thanks to D&O&G for their help (and A helped on Sunday too!)!
Now, I’ll be getting serious about new floors, kitchen counter-top, master bath, additional lighting and various other things, which will result in rearranged rooms and much spiffiness. I’ve got an interior designer who has already given me some ideas, and I’ll be talking to another so that I can get multiple bids. Although I picked the colors I want in the bedrooms and office, I need some help deciding what to do in the bathrooms and kitchen (colors, textures, etc.). Hopefully, it’ll all be done by the end of February.
Oh, and I have *got* to remember to make an appointment to have someone come out to look at my washing machine, which broke down just before I left for vacation. I think I’ll call right now. . . .
