Color Accomplished!
Well, I’ve now got a red room, a green room and a yellow room. The hall is going to be finished tonight (a very light latte color), and then I have to go back the the yellow room for some more work. For your information, remember when using a chalk line not to tape over the chalk line and hope to wipe it off later. It doesn’t work. So, I’ll be widening my gold stripes by about a quarter inch on each side so I can paint over the blue chalk that won’t wash off because it was sealed on by the pale yellow base paint. Sigh. Despite the minor hiccup with the stripes, however, I’m really, really happy with the paint job we did on the bedrooms. Many, many thanks to D&O&G for their help (and A helped on Sunday too!)!
Now, I’ll be getting serious about new floors, kitchen counter-top, master bath, additional lighting and various other things, which will result in rearranged rooms and much spiffiness. I’ve got an interior designer who has already given me some ideas, and I’ll be talking to another so that I can get multiple bids. Although I picked the colors I want in the bedrooms and office, I need some help deciding what to do in the bathrooms and kitchen (colors, textures, etc.). Hopefully, it’ll all be done by the end of February.
Oh, and I have *got* to remember to make an appointment to have someone come out to look at my washing machine, which broke down just before I left for vacation. I think I’ll call right now. . . .

dang! a) this post is useless without photos
b) I’m glad we’re not the only ones that think green and red are perfectly good room colors.
At least you did not use red chalk, as it tends to migrate through what ever you cover it with.
I’ll post some pictures as soon as I get everything back in place in the rooms. Trust me, you don’t need to see what they look like right now! And, red and green are perfect room colors.
Dude, you’ll be done by Febuary? I feel like such a slacker now, I’ve been working on our remodel for, oh, like 7 months. Come do my place.
