She brought me a whole bag of DVDs, which I’ve been watching all evening (between naps). I’m feeling better, although I’m still stuffed up and I have no voice. So, don’t bother to call (except to tell me who won Crown) if you need more than a croak as an answer. Just took a shower and am ready to go back to bed. I figure I’ll sleep most of the day tomorrow and probably be feeling pretty OK by Monday. Good thing I decided to take vacation next week! Hope everyone who could go is having a blast at Bordermarch. I hated to miss the debut of the Company of St. Mark, so I expect to hear all about it tomorrow and next week. Good luck to all the guys in Crown tomorrow (although it’s midnight, so I guess it’s actually today)!

Sick of Being Sick
This has been an icky week mostly. Started feelng achy on Monday, stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday with cold-like symptoms. Went to work Thursday and made it through most of the day before pooping out. Stayed up late Thursday trying to finish an heraldic sideless surcoat for the Bordermarch event. Worked from home Friday and mostly finished the dress before admitting that I was still sick and that going to a camping event would be a pretty stupid thing to do. So, I admitted defeat and stayed home with my sore throat, stuffy nose and cough.
I watched the two videos I have that have not been packed away in a box hidden among the pile of boxes in my garage last night, and I’ll watch Hot Fuzz, borrowed from MCC, again today. Then, I’ll just “suffer” with my books since my TV hasn’t been hooked up to cable again after rearranging the house. That’s happening on Monday. I’m feeling peevish. It’s going to be a long weekend. Sigh.

Look like the innocent flower, but be the Antonia under’t.
Which work of Shakespeare was the original quote from?
OK, found this quote generator on a friends’ LJ site and thought it was fabulous! I plugged in Antonia’s name and got a quote that seems, somehow, entirely appropriate! Will play with a few more and post any truly amusing ones.

Much Effort Expended
Actually, it has seemed like way too much effort to post for the past month or so. I have discovered (re-discovered) that I’m really a creature of habit and that I hate changes to my environment that are out of my control. My house is finally almost done, and I feel like I barely have the energy to unpack everything and place it all in its new place. But the remodel won’t be done until all the boxes are unpacked. The whole experience really hasn’t been all that bad, but it’s been emotionally wearing on me (see “creature of habit” above). Sigh.
The carpet is being laid as I type (yesterday and today), the tile is down, the kitchen is done, the master bath is done, all the lighting is installed, the rooms are rearranged. Still left to do is finishing work in the two guest baths: the back bath is waiting for the new countertop and sink to be delivered – once they arrive, it will be done in a couple of hours. The hall bath is awaiting the plumber to install the new toilet and faucet. Then, I need to paint the kitchen, front hall and back den. And then, finally, it will all be done. Whew.
Anyway, working from home today so the carpet guys can finish up, and I need to now do some actual work. I will be really, really glad when this is finished. I will also probably be much more enthusiastic about how fabulous it all looks. Because it does.
