  • Just got home from my department Christmas party – nothing over the
top, just dinner at a nice little Italian restaurant with 10
people.  Good food, good wine, fun conversation, and got to meet
some significant others and hold the boss’ brand new baby.  Only
four weeks old – wow, what a beautiful child.  Thought I’d just
dash an entry off on my way to get ready for bed.

The new health club opened last week, and I’ve been meeting a work
colleague every morning this week at 6:00am to work out.  At 5:45
every morning, I’ve been wondering just why the hell I thought this was
such a good idea.  I’ve found that, as I suspected, my strength is
pretty good from doing yoga for seven months, but I’ve got zip for
endurance.  Ten minutes on the elliptical machine and I’m gasping
for air.  Oh well, considering that seven months ago, I couldn’t
even do two strides because of the pain in my hip, I guess yoga has
done me a lot of good.  And, this new place has a lap pool, so I’m
doing a combination of “running” and swimming laps.  Once I get
over the sore every morning part, it should start feeling pretty good.

Gotta go placate the cats and then get to bed.  Up at 5:30, god help me.

  • wow! I’m impressed with your dedication… I can’t imagine getting up that early do that, even knowing how much better the world feels when I keep in shape.

  • I love the elliptical machine. I’m up to 30 on the ones at Apple.

I, too, hate working out, up until that point in the workout where I LOVE it. Then it’s all better.

  • Wow. Dude you are so my hero. I don’t think a battery acid enema administered by shrieking naked albino midgets with ice-cube fingers could even get me up that early.

  • My god, Genna. We need to never make you a WS. We don’t need any more evil visuals in the circle.
