    SCA things to do:

    1.     Make covers for ice chests, with lids that open for convenience
    2.     Make cover for chair
    3.     Paint tent with something pretty
    4.     Make bag for tent.  Another bag for ropes and stakes
    5.     Reduce measurements on dress form – it doesn’t squish, but I do!
    6.     Fix yellow linen dress (it’s how I discovered how much more I squish than does my dress form)
    7.     Make linen underdresses – Lilies proved that linen rocks
    8.     Dye pink linen to deep red.  Make dress
    9.     Dye yellow linen to deep gold.  Make dress
    10.   Dye remaining linen to some pretty color.  Make dresses
    11.   Buy more linen.  Need a black underdress
    12.   Mix and match different color linens to make parti-colored dress
    13.   Make frame and paint silk banners
    14.   Need to order dyes for all of the above dyeing!

    Modern things to do:

    1.    Finalize choice for floor in office
    2.    Finalize choice for front door
    3.    Pack up books and other shelf contents
    4.    Pack up craft/sewing room, organizing and cleaning out as I go
    5.    Pack up office/desk, organizing and cleaning out as I go
    6.    Pack up closets, organizing and cleaning out as I go
    7.    Finish cleaning and organizing garage (hold garage sale?)
    8.    Take down all pictures, etc. in preparation for installation of carpet/tile/wood
    9.    Paint third bathroom yellow
    10.  Paint master bathroom – white or deep red or both or something else?
    11.  Select paint color for kitchen and paint
    12.  Select blinds for all rooms and install

Lots more, but I’m tired just reading the above.

  • Holy Crap, Lady, that’s mighty ambitious! I’m tired now too!

  • With your schedule, all of this should sound like a cake walk! I get to space all this out over several weeks at least (although the “modern” stuff has to come fairly soon since we’re meeting to schedule installation of floors and countertops this week).

  • I’ve got all the stuff for silk painting, so if you wanna try before you buy, feel free to get in touch with me!

  • At least you are organized enough to be able to list what is needed.
Too often I figure out I need something while in the middle of 3 other projects.

  • Good luck on your projects! :o )

  • What was that site that you guys told my wife about to get the right dyes for the linen she bought at warlord?

  • You can use MX Reactive dye from ProChem. http://www.prochemical.com/catalog/mx.htm .
Here are the directions: http://www.prochemical.com/directions/MX_WashingMachine.htm . Now, you do need other ingredients, not just Rit and salt, although you should probably use Metaphos with Rit as well, if your water is as hard as San Antonio’s.
Disclaimer: I haven’t washing machine dyed with ProMX. I have done low water immersion dyeing of smaller pieces. But the colors are vibrant and supposed to be wash- and light-fast.

Here’s a chart of their products and uses: http://www.prochemical.com/productuse.htm

  • The site I was thinking about is dharmatradingcompany.com. You can get the fiber reactive dyes (and much else) from them. Order their catalog – they have pages and pages of “how to” advice!

  • You forgot to list “hang out with friends” on either/both lists…. c’mon now!
