  • Another Year

How does the saying go?  “Another year older and deeper in debt.”  Well, the first part is true although I’ve been able to keep the second part at bay, thanks to the bonus I got for not quitting when my company was acquired last year.  That’s all gone now, however, and I’ve got a paid-off car, paid-off school loan and remodeled house to show for it.  Not bad at all.  The house is almost completely finished – still need to paint the kitchen and TV room, and there’s some small, detail stuff that still needs to be fixed (baseboards, door trim) – and I’ve been scrambling to get everything moved back in and unpacked before New Year’s Eve.  Bless my friends who have volunteered to help me finish up!  Once it’s all done, I’ll post some pictures.

Of course, there’s more stuff I’d like to do next year, including some exterior work, but I think that’s part of being a home owner.  You’re never completely done working on your house.  But I’m happy enough with it that I only half-joked with a friend that even if I won the bit Lotto tomorrow, I’d keep the place as my Dallas house (although I’d have a field day doing the other stuff I’ve thought of to it).  Well, gotta get back to work for now, but it’s been so long since I posted, I thought I better do this when the inspiration hit (*anything* is better than finishing this boring document I’m reviewing).  Bye!
